Jason's Woods is packed with multiple attractions to make you walk away terrified. It includes traditional haunted houses, a haunted trail, a haunted hayride, and more. One of its traditional houses is the Chamber of Horrors, a dark mansion with animal-like creatures hiding around every corner. Zombie Apocalypse is another walk-through attraction. Explore what remains in a world ravaged by zombies and humans desperate to survive.

Get ready to get Lost in Jason's Woods. This outdoor walking experience includes a trail that takes you through the terrors of the woods, where you'll come face-to-face with its secrets and monsters. Carnival of Fear is another walk-through experience. It's a twisting maze with dead ends and terrifying clowns lurking everywhere you turn.

The Horrifying Hayride is undoubtedly the star attraction at Jason's Woods. Dubbed the No. 1 Haunted Hayride in America by the Haunt Rater, this terrifying trek uses integrated motion technology to provide a one-of-a-kind hayride experience. Feel the ground tremble, experience the rush of dodging an 18-wheeler, avoid hitchhikers who join your ride and much more on this unique thrill ride.

Jason's Woods also features Jason's Midway. A spooky addition includes a variety of mini attractions and spots to enjoy food and drinks. This haunted attraction also hosts special events throughout Halloween, such as live music and celebrity appearances.

Field of Screams

Field of Screams returns for its 30th year of frightening Lancaster County residents. Located approximately 15 minutes from Lancaster in Mountville, it includes four unique attractions: a haunted hayride, a haunted trail, and two haunted houses. Field of Screams consistently delivers some of the most impressive and terrifying attractions, earning it national recognition such as the fourth spot on USA Today's 10 Best Haunted Attractions Across the Country in 2021 and Hauntworld.com's Top 13 Scariest Haunted Houses in 2021.

The Haunted Hayride at Field of Screams is a 20-minute terror-filled trek updated yearly with new scares. The journey starts with a 20-foot pumpkin king that towers over you as you venture into the spooky cornfield in complete darkness. It continues through scenes with pig butchers in a slaughterhouse, trigger-happy hillbillies, clowns, toxic waste creatures, chainsaws, and monsters from your worst nightmares.

Den of Darkness is a three-story barn, and it's now a multi-floor haunted house brimming with terror. It tells the story of Mr. Murter's evil actions against locals who approached his property. Frightmare Asylum is the attraction's other haunted house, with four twisted floors showcasing the grizzly experiments of the doctors at the asylum.

Nocturnal Wasteland Haunted Woods is the newest experience at the attraction. Embark on a journey through this trail of terror while you avoid its inhabitants — who don't take too kindly to outsiders.

The Haunt

The Haunt returns for its second year in Lebanon County. Located about half an hour from Lancaster in Schaefferstown, this attraction is an immersive carnival grounds area. The interest explores what's happened in the more than 100 years since the carnival first opened. It's also expanding to include a third area this year.

The Haunt also provides a unique way to support the local community. Rather than a for-profit company, the Schaefferstown Fire Company sponsors this attraction. The fire company and volunteers are entirely responsible for the attraction's construction and operation, and they receive all proceeds from the event.

Pennhurst Asylum

Pennhurst Asylum is believed by some to be haunted by ghosts and spirits. The attraction opened in 2010 in the abandoned Pennhurst State School and Hospital, which is notorious for its shameful past. Visitors begin their journey by learning about the institution's history before entering the haunted house and walking through the underground tunnels. Visitors encounter gruesome sites and pieces of the original morgue, but they never enter places where patients live. See why Hauntworld.com ranked this attraction No. 6 on its Top 13 Scariest Haunted Houses in 2021.

Making the hour-long drive to Spring City for this attraction is worth it if you're interested in getting in touch with the other side. Many claims to feel the actual residents' spirits, and Pennhurst Asylum offers paranormal investigations and tours. It provides these tours throughout the year and offers a daytime history tour.

Hotel of Horror

Hotel of Horror immerses you in an abandoned Pocono Mountain resort. This resort, the Lake House Hotel, includes two attractions: the Hotel of Horror and Altered Nightmares. The attraction describes these entities as intertwined and sharing organs, behaving like conjoined twins. Visitors come face-to-face with creatures, monsters, and rogue inmates operating the facility, leaving plenty of dark and twisted scares around every corner.

The hotel of Horror in Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania, is approximately two hours from Lancaster. Although a little further out, it's a real treat for horror-lovers and thrill-seekers. See why Hauntworld.com named it No. 47 on its Top Scariest Haunted Houses in 2021.
